Handmade market (tezukuri) is held every month on 15th.
Absolutely beautiful
Handmade market on every Friday
Good
Handmade market on 15th every month
Once again, due to the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, like Kiyomizudera, they are under maintenance and as a result, u cannot really see much. However, there was an interesting display for local DIY products and that's interesting
Every 15th of the month, there’s a handicrafts market, worth a visit.
Amazing handicraft market takes place on the 15tb of every month. Hundreds of vendors!
It's not crowded
I went there for the Market, which takes place there every 15th of the month. There were a lot of things to see and buy, it was quite a lot of fun just looking at everything. It was quite crowded but not to the degree, that you couldn't stop somewhere to look at stuff. But since i didn't really inspect the temple by itself i can't really give an opinion on it.
great temple!
Lord Buddha got the enlightenment and preached his messages to the mankind to live in peace and hormony.
Main Temple is under construction however it didn't stop the monthly markets. On sale were handmade crafts, paintings, plants, yarn and many more. The temple itself is beautiful. You can attend chanting sessions, which is scheduled three times during weekdays, I'm unsure about weekend sessions. It is free, of course.
Local market 15th monthly.
The temple is quiet and peaceful. It has a garden expressing “Sanjin-shishu”, which means three minds necessary to recite a prayer and four trainings necessary to go to the paradise. A handicraft market is held here on the 15th of each month. This market offers a wide variety of arts and crafts.
Came here on the 15th to catch the craft market. I'd say it's worth the visit. The market sells bags, pouches, woodwork, ceramics, clothes, jewellery, foods, and pickles. The majority of goods were handmade, and of very good quality. Bought most of my souvenirs here. There are two other monthly markets in Kyoto you can catch if you miss this one. Google them to find out.
